Tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a procedure to remove extra skin and fat in the tummy area. Liposuction can remove excess fat, but often leaves extra loose and hanging skin. To tighten up the abdominal wall the surgeon reinforces the abdominal muscles that have become loose with time or childbearing. Next, extra skin is removed to provide as tight and flat of a tummy as possible. Often times the belly button is repositioned to remain in a correct position. Dr. Orloff makes the incision as low as possible so it is well hidden by low cut pants and bathing suits.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia on outpatient basis. It can be combined with other procedures such as liposuction of flanks (love handles) or thighs.

When Thousand Abdominal Crunches are not enough
Many women try very hard to excersize and eat right. However, it is impossible to get rid of extra skin this way. Abdominoplasty surgery gives you a head start by removing the excess skin.

Postoperative recovery is very important to Dr. Orloff. He frequently utilizes a pain pump following a tummy tuck. This continuously infuses pain medication in the surgical site making your recovery much more comfortable. Patients get up with more ease and faster. They can return to their jobs and usual activities sooner. This also cuts down on the number of pain pills patients have to take and reduces the side effects of sleepiness, nausea, and constipation.

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck removes excess skin and fat from your abdominal wall. If you have internal fat, fat that can accumulate around your organs, that will remain. Abdominoplasty will improve your silhouette and make your abdominal wall tighter.

Mini Abdominoplasty
Some people do not have too much excess fat or extra skin and may be great candidates for Mini-Abdominoplasty. This operation focuses on the area bellow the belly button. Often times the belly button does not need to be moved in this operation.

During your consultation with Doctor Orloff you will have a chance to discuss your options. Doctor Orloff can recommend which procedures may be most appropriate for you.

Tummy tuck for men as well as women

Dr. Orloff
Thank you so much for the
excellent care that you and your
staff provided for me over the past
few month. I am so pleased with
with how my reconstructive surgery
turned out & I am convinced I could
not have had a better surgeon to
do the job. I look as good as
new and I feel very privileged to
have been under your care. You
have one of the warmest and
nicest staffs out of any doctors
offices I’ve ever been to. Everyone
was always so friendly and took
such great care of me & it really
helped me to get through the
difficult period following my assault.
Thank you again – I am so
grateful for all that you have done!
I can’t find the words to thank you.
Christopher S.

Dr. Orloff and staff hone their service by asking patients for feedback after a procedure. This is done with a little questionnaire. Some patients take this as an opportunity to express their appreciation…

Kindly take a few minutes to answer the following questions so we can better serve your future needs. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey.
Were the instructions from the doctor and nurse explained clearly prior to the surgery?
Absolutely!
Did your anesthesiologist clearly answer all your questions?
Definitely!
Were all your questions answered adequately?
Yes, and wth quick responses.
Would you recommend our facility to a friend or a relative?
Absolutely! (Maybe even my husband!) I’ll be back for spider veins in the winter!
Please let us know what you liked and disliked about your surgical experience.
I loved the aftercare follow-up calls and flowers. I felt like your only patient with all the attentiveness. I could have done without the pain – (after surgery) –> Ahgg! Both Dr. Orloffs were so personable and polite and the other staff too.
Thank you!
