One of the hallmarks of great cosmetic or plastic surgery is that you can’t really tell what changed, but that the overall impression and appearance has changed, but changed so subtly that it is not apparent.
An exchange like: “Wow, Henry, we haven’t met in ages - nice nose job!” is probably not a good compliment for the person responsible for the ‘nose job,’ but an exchange like “Man, you look great, what have you done, got a lot of sleep since last month? Come on - tell me what you did, I’m your friend, you can tell!’ - certainly is.
