September 17, 2007 Blepharoplasty - Eyelid Enhancement Surgery (Blepharplasty)
It can be hard to feel alive and vibrant when the eyes looking back at you appear tired and old. Loose skin and bags over and under your eyes make you look more tired and older than you may feel inside. Each year thousands of men and women undergo a simple eyelid surgery to help restore a more energetic and youthful appearance.

An eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a simple procedure performed to correct sagging eyelids, and/or to remove fatty pouches under the eyes and excess skin on the upper eyelids. This procedure can help improve vision in older patients who have hooding of their upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty surgery is customized for every patient, depending on his or her particular needs. It can be performed alone involving upper, lower or both eyelid regions, or in conjunction with other surgical procedures of the eye, face, brow, or nose. Eyelid surgery cannot stop the process of aging. It can however, diminish the look of loose skin and bagginess in the eyelid region.
Blepharoplasty is a simple outpatient procedure where the excess skin and fat are trimmed away. This erases the tired and angry expression time might have added and makes you look as good as you feel. The incisions on the upper eyelids are well camouflaged in the eyelid crease and the lower incisions are hidden inside the eyelids.
There are various techniques utilized for eyelid surgery, and at the initial consultation, Dr. Orloff will assess your individual concerns and formulate a treatment plan best suited to meet your desired goals.
