May 9, 2007 Ultrasonic Liposuction and Liposculpture
Often times, no matter how many sit-ups you do, that pooch simply will not go away. Body contouring through liposuction is one of the most frequently requested cosmetic surgery procedures today for both men and women. Liposuction is a surgical technique to remove unwanted deposits of fat from specific areas of the body, including the face and neck, upper arms, trunk, abdomen, buttocks, hips and thighs, and the knees, calves, and ankles. For people of normal weight who have pockets of excess fat that just won’t go away with diet and exercise, liposuction can produce a definite improvement in body shape.
There are many types of liposuction that can be performed, and Dr. Orloff utilizes the most advanced equipment in his state-of-the-art facility to perform the technique most suitable for each individual patient. Suction assisted liposuction is the standard method for this procedure, however Dr. Orloff also may perform a technique known as ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty, which uses sound waves to “liquefy” and remove unwanted fat. Whichever technique utilized, patients are delighted with the results and removal of unwanted fatty deposits on various areas of their body.
Liposuction may be performed alone for body contouring, or may be combined with other surgical techniques such as a facelift, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), or thigh lift to tighten loose skin.
