A common occurrence in early middle age is the appearance of wrinkles and frown lines. These often first appear in the brow and forehead area and may give the appearance of being older, angry or unfriendly. A forehead lift or browlift can smooth out the wrinkles and correct dropping brows and heavy lids to provide a younger, friendlier appearance.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Orloff will discuss the browlift/forehead lift surgery and the different approaches available: the “open” method or the endoscopic lift, and formulate a treatment plan that best suits your goals and desires for the outcome of the procedure.

With the classical or “open” method for this surgery, the incision is hidden just inside or by the hairline across the scalp and between the ears. The appearance of wrinkles is lessened by removing selected muscles and releasing the tissues that have caused the wrinkles. The eyebrows may also be elevated, and excess skin at the incision will be removed to allow a gentle redraping of your forehead skin.

With the endoscopic approach, Dr. Orloff performs the procedure using a tiny fiberoptic lens connected to a camera, connected to a television from which he views the procedure. The surgery is performed while viewing the television monitor and manipulating tiny instruments externally.
